I was born in Canada in 1965 and moved to England when I was eight years old with my mother, who was English by birth and my younger brother. Nothing really happened in my childhood worth boring you with so I will skip a few years to the more interesting times. I stayed on a senior school to do ‘A’ levels in Fine art, Graphic art and History of art, passing them all, which was as much a shock as it was pleasing as my artistic flare was only discovered by chance! I took art, like many at my school, because I thought it would be an easy lesson where I could do next to nothing, relax and talk about the plans for the night ahead. Next thing I know I am an ‘A’ level student who is off to Canterbury College of Art to do a two year Graphic art and Illustration Diploma. I’m not sure if I wasn’t ready for college or college wasn’t ready for me but we parted company within a year of starting the course.
For a while art took a back seat while I tried out different jobs, met a beautiful girl and started a family. None of the jobs were really right for me so in 1989 it was decided that I would try a career as an artist. A year passed with little success, and then a week before Christmas I got lucky with one of the many galleries I had visited. Victoria Gallery, a small gallery just outside London commissioned me to paint a series of twenty heavyweight boxers to be used as a set of Trade Cards. From 1990 – 1994 a further fifteen sets were to follow including North American Indians to Great Olympians. In this period I also did several postage stamp designs for countries around the world including Jamaica, Liberia and Fiji. At the end of ’94 I decided to go into partnership with someone who had a bit more of a business brain than myself, which wasn’t hard; I am JUST an artist! We decided to start publishing for ourselves, mainly Limited Edition prints on a memorabilia theme, Elvis, Kurt Cobain, Brandon Lee, that kind of thing. |

As well as we were doing I still had a nagging feeling that it wasn’t what I really wanted to do, and with the year 2000 nearly upon us I decided to make a fresh start. As I celebrated the New Year I also said goodbye to the partnership, we both had different plans on how to make our first million so we decided to call it a day.
'Bite Me' was my first serious dabble into the fantasy/erotica genre and I haven’t looked back since. I truly believe there cannot be a more pleasing subject to paint than the female form, and until my views change or hell freezes over I can’t imagine painting anything else. My new artwork has been published in several magazines including ‘Club International’ and I regularly do cover work for the popular ‘Cursed Empire’ role-playing game.
In the last couple of years I have started to try my hand at photography, which I find very relaxing, and a good way to get reference for my artwork. To my surprise some of that has also been published in magazines and featured in ‘Mayfair’. There are so many people I should thank for all their help and direction on the rocky road of an artist, but it is my long time wife Rachel and my three beautiful children Ricky, Adam and Nicole who I would like to thank the most for all there support no matter what and giving me the confidence to carry on.
